Dear Friend,
We want to express our love and support for you during this difficult time of your life. We pray every night that you will find the strength and support you need to make the best decision for you and your baby. It is hard for us to really know what you are experiencing through this difficult time, but we believe that our Heavenly Father knows and understands your thoughts and feelings. We hope that you will feel his love and comfort as you pray to know what is right for you and your child.
Thank you considering the choice of adoption. We hope that through this letter you will have a glimpse of who we are. We would love to get to know you better and help in any way we can.
Our Story
Our story began in high school where we met each other and instantly had a connection. We were high school sweethearts and dated for 5 years before we were married in the Salt Lake Temple. Colby proposed to me in front of the reflection pond at the Salt Lake Temple. We had often tossed quarters into the pond making the wish that one day we would marry each other there. So when the time had finally come, he took me down to the temple to make another wish. We each had our quarters in our hands and Colby counted to 3 so we could toss them in together. When he reached 3, I tossed my coin in, but Colby held on to his. I looked at him wondering why he didn’t throw his quarter in, and then he got down on one knee. He told me that for many years he had wished that one day he could marry me in that temple and now he wanted to make his dream come true. Of course I said yes and the rest is history. We have now been married for 6 adventure-filled years.
About Colby by Cayley
Colby is my very best friend. He makes a great husband and I look up to him very much. He is also a very fun and entertaining person. One time we were spending the day at a lake with family and friends. Everyone was sitting on the beach relaxing and enjoying the water. Colby went back to the truck for minute to grab something. No one thought anything of it until all of a sudden he came running down the mountain screaming "There's a bear! Run! Run!" and he dove right into the lake with his clothes and shoes on. He then started screaming "Help! I can't swim!" We were all laughing hysterically because we knew it was just another one of the funny, random moments from Colby. We never have a dull moment when Colby is around and that is what made me fall in love with him. Another attribute I love about Colby is that he is a hard worker. I rarely see him just sitting around. He loves to keep himself busy and involved in any way he can. Colby built our home we live in, he loves to fix things, and he always has a fun project to work on. He does work hard, but then also loves to play. In the summer he enjoys camping and being outdoors and during the fall and winter he looks forward to hunting and snowmobiling.
About Cayley by Colby
Cayley is a wonderful wife. She is very friendly and kind to everyone she comes in contact with. One of my favorite attributes of Cayley is that she never has a problem getting along with anyone. She would do anything for anyone. I also admire her effort as an elementary teacher and I know that she really enjoys her job. Whenever we are somewhere in public and she sees one of her students, she loves talking to them and I can see how much she means to them. She loves her job and often tells me about the funny things kids say and do every day at work. I know the things she has learned from teaching will really help our family as we raise our children. She is also very dedicated and devoted to me and our families. I admire how much she is willing to help me or someone in our family out when we really need it most. If Cayley says she will do something, you never have to doubt her word. No matter what, she always follows through and is dependable. Cayley also has a tremendous love for the gospel. Her testimony of the church is what keeps our family together. I am so thankful for that.
We hope that you can feel our prayers and love for you during this difficult process. We admire your strength and courage, and hope that you can feel Heavenly Father’s love for you. May the Lord bless you in making the right decision for you and your baby.
Feel free to contact us if you would like to know more about us. We would love to get to know you better too.
With much love,
Colby and Cayley
